LISTEN UP: VOYAGER ONE
Change is constant but for Seattle's Voyager One, the five-piece has kept the core of its shimmering, sonic endeavor completely intact. Granted, the band's fourth album shifts slightly toward electronic musings with greater emphasis on synthesizer swirls and fuzzy phrases as well as tiny hints of dance floor ambitions with beats and bass lines that summon the body. That said, the lush dreamscapes retain the churning drones and twinkling guitars. And of course, Peter Marchese's reverb-laden vocals to guide listeners through the expanse. To call it psychedelic is helpful but not complete; these trips invite the body, not just the mind. DOWNLOAD: "Ocean Grey"

SHACKELTONS GET 4/5 STARS IN A REVIEW IN THE FEBRUARY EDITION OF SPIN MAGAZINE
4/5 Stars “Scruffy, emotional indie boys you can actually believe in Palpable desperation is one of rock -n- rolls most valuable commodities, because it's impossible to fake. What makes bands like Pixies, Fugazi, and Les Savy Fav so exciting- and what makes the Shackeltons, from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, similarly thrilling - is a breathlessness, a creeping sense that crouched behind the towering melodies and heard-‘em before razor guitars (think Television, in addition to the aforementioned bands), there's complete breakdown. A half-dozen times on their debut, the Shackeltons sound completely convincing, and that's about six more times than most bands ever manage.”

VOYAGER ONE RETURNS TO LOVELESS RECORDS
Label's First Band Rejoins Them to Put Out Their Upcoming Album
Seattle, Washington - December 6, 2007 - Seattle’s Voyager One has rejoined Loveless Records to release their anticipated new album, Afterhours in the Afterlife, out on February 26, 2008. Afterhours comes on the heels of the band self-released gem, Dissolver (TokyoIdaho 2005) which received critical acclaim, “9/10 stars” Under the Radar, and got the band touring nationally with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
Voyager One was Loveless' first signed act when the label began in 1999, releasing their previous albums From the New Nation of Long Shadows and Monster Zero. The return to Loveless marks both a rebirth of the band in a sonic direction and is a reinforcemet that Loveless is committed to bringing quality music to the masses.
When Loveless began, the idea was to put out music by some great, undiscovered Seattle bands. “The label got started when a friend and I were at a Voyager One show and were blown away that no one was putting out their music. That night at the Crocodile over many beers, it was decided that we were going to put out their debut.” - John Richards, KEXP Morning Show host, and Loveless partner.
Since that time, Voyager One has continued to put out great music. "Their previous releases continue to sell so it was a no-brainer for Loveless to want to release Afterhours," says Loveless partner Pete Nordstrom.
Catch Voyager One this Saturday, December 8th at 7:00 pm at the High Dive where they’ll be playing at the Loveless Christmas Party where you'll hear new tunes from Afterhours in the Afterlife.
About Voyager One & Afterhours in the Afterlife The band’s fourth album, Afterhours in the Afterlife, includes two tracks co-written by the German experimental electro-pop artist 'Guitar.' Afterhours brings a stylistic shift for Voyager One, with lush electronic melodies and fuzz-driven guitars colliding to create a bigger sound than ever before. A remix of “Ocean Grey” off the new release will be featured in an upcoming Ferrari video game for Wii, XBox360 and Playstation3. "'Sinewaves' is probably one of my fave tracks at the moment...deep, emotional but f*cking ace!... 'Here is another highlight for me...some wicked sonic ideas expressed...nice!" - Fergie Show BBC1
